This drive leads you through Broken Hill and on to a grand tour of the lower Darling, taking in Wentworth, Broken Hill, the township and lake of Menindee and KinchegaNational Park and Pooncarie. Take a couple of side loops to Mungo and MutawintjiNational Park. The main centre of outback NSW, Broken Hill, has many great attractions, cafes, restaurants, galleries, fascinating architecture, and rich outback history and a variety of accommodation.
The magnificent MenindeeLake is a great attraction for visitors and for local bird and animal life. Camp a night at Kinchega then from Menindee, rejoin the Darling River Run with Wilcannia upstream and the historic Pooncarie downstream. Both townships are on the Darling River and have a fascinating history like most towns on rivers.
For those wanting to also visit Lake Mungo (Mungo National Park) and/or Mutawintji, this loop can also incorporate the Mungo Loop and the Mutawintji Loop.
